PONY RUNOFF
BACK FROM HIATUS! Pony musicians going manestream ‘en masse’! Does this spell doom for indie MLP scene?

There’s been a noticeable dearth of content on this blog lately, and it’s all my fault. The MLP buzz is still going strong, and I tried to write something, but my heart just wasn’t in it. #prayforgabbers

Anyways, we’re going to discuss some notable recent developments in the pony music community. First off, JackleApp has released a new 4 song EP, “Seasons”. It features his signature bleepy bloopy chillwave sound and all the songs are about how he wants do bang various My Little Pony characters. The release was a critical and commercial success, with JackleApp quickly ‘topping the charts’ on a popular website bandcamp.com.

In other news, The Living Tombstone has landed a cushy spot in the latest installment of “asdfmovie” made by YouTube celebrity TomSka. Since all songs by The Living Tombstone kinda sound the same, roughly half of the comments on asdfmovie5 were to the tune of “when i herd teh musics i knew it was tehlivingtombstone, and then i saw his face in the credits and i was liek awww yeah”, while the other half were bemoaning the lack of “I like trains” guy.

The song itself has nothing to do with ponies. In fact, it’s about a dog. Is Tomb secretly a ‘poundie’ (a Pound Puppies fan)? You decide.

It feels like pony music community has finally ‘hit it big’. Our artists are popping all over the place. But is it really worth it? MLP fan music was never about fame and money. It was about free artistic expression, about passion, about the magic of friendship. Now the feeling of tight knit circle of friends is quickly evaporating, as more and more musicians let fame go into their heads.

What do u think re: pony music going manestream?

Who is ‘bigger’, JackleApp or The Living Tombstone?

Do u think music should be free to download, and ppl who sell their albums are ‘total sellouts’?

Is dog music community superior to pony music community?

Sounds good, bb!

The Living Tombstone makes a song, sounds exactly like his other song

The Living Tombstone, The Living Tombstone, what happened to u, bb?

You were the indie darling of the pony music community and your dubtrot-influenced stylings have captured the hearts of many a fan.

But I feel lately you’re just ‘phoning it in’.

Case in point, your latest song, ‘Magic’. What the eff is that? Oh, right, it sounds exactly like all your other recent songs. ‘Smile’, ‘Good Ol’ Days’, ‘September’, blah blah blah. What sets it apart is the vocals. First off, imo The Tomb should just refrain from singing anything whatsoever. Your voice and accent are just physically hurtful to listen to. Even Luna’s voice in Princess of the Night is more pleasing to the ears.

As for Lauren Goodnight, don’t even get me started. I thought her terrible Pinkie’s brew cover would be the last I heard of her, but apparently now she’s going places doing a ‘high-profile’ collab like this. I’m sorry bb, but I have never heard anyone as tone-deaf as u.

Has the pony music community collectively lost their minds, allowing hacks like Lauren G. to prosper?

Has The Living Tombstone lost his touch?

Should he go back to remixing other people’s stuff?

Is Trixie ‘so last year’?
