Wooooah boiii! I’ve been waiting for a story like this ever since I started this blog. Bronies are usually a peaceful bunch and things have been pretty calm since the great Derpy debacle, so I had to manufacture drama out of absolutely mundane stuff in order to keep things running. But hold on to your hooves, and put some popcorn in your microwave…

There have been rumors for some time that two popular MLP parody groups, SherclopPones (who make Friendship is Witchcraft) and FiMFlamFilosophy (who make The Mentally Advanced Series) don’t really like each other very much. This stemmed mostly from various sarcastic quips they used to direct at each other, but most people thought they were just ‘trolling the audience’, as internet jokester people are wont to do.

Well, apparently the great Sherclop vs FiMFlam feud is REAL! It did start out as a joke, but at some point things came to a pickle (by which I mean, turned very sour).

In a tumblr post by Jenny of SherclopPones, she really tells it like it is! Apparently FiMFlam is a jerk and a woman-hater, so they refused to make a collab with him. He did not take the rejection well. In fact it seems there’s a pattern of FiMFlam being rejected by female collaborators… Make of that what you will!

Anyway, in the interest of being impartial, I also have to examine FiMFlam’s side of the story. He made several posts on the subject. In the first one he claims that Jenny just didn’t get his brilliant, multi-layered joke about choking on dicks. This is the joke, by the way:

There is an interesting thing about being of the female gender. It’s that if you don’t choke on a dick at least once, then odds are you either aren’t trying very hard or you need a new boyfriend.

Now, I’m just a little filly, so maybe I don’t understand the subtlety and intricacies of this kind of humor, but it doesn’t seem like something you tell a lady! You can’t just say it’s ‘just a joke’, it’s pretty damn offensive and hardly even funny. What would Lauren Faust say?

In the second response he accuses Sherclop of being ‘not cereal’ via not deleting their emails, which is presumably a ‘cereal’ way of doing things. To which I say: what? Unless it’s spam, or some nerdy kid is stalking you, why would you ever delete an email? Grasping at straws here, mister!

And finally, he posted a long-winded explanation re: how his joke is actually not sexist.

Anyway, this was PONY RUNOFF coverage of the first big PONY BEEF of the summer. There is no doubt we will see more of these, as the fanbase becomes more and more unhinged, with no ponies to guide us via the ‘spirit of friendship’. So, stay tuned and subscribe!

There’s been a noticeable dearth of content on this blog lately, and it’s all my fault. The MLP buzz is still going strong, and I tried to write something, but my heart just wasn’t in it. #prayforgabbers

Anyways, we’re going to discuss some notable recent developments in the pony music community. First off, JackleApp has released a new 4 song EP, “Seasons”. It features his signature bleepy bloopy chillwave sound and all the songs are about how he wants do bang various My Little Pony characters. The release was a critical and commercial success, with JackleApp quickly ‘topping the charts’ on a popular website bandcamp.com.

In other news, The Living Tombstone has landed a cushy spot in the latest installment of “asdfmovie” made by YouTube celebrity TomSka. Since all songs by The Living Tombstone kinda sound the same, roughly half of the comments on asdfmovie5 were to the tune of “when i herd teh musics i knew it was tehlivingtombstone, and then i saw his face in the credits and i was liek awww yeah”, while the other half were bemoaning the lack of “I like trains” guy.

The song itself has nothing to do with ponies. In fact, it’s about a dog. Is Tomb secretly a ‘poundie’ (a Pound Puppies fan)? You decide.

It feels like pony music community has finally ‘hit it big’. Our artists are popping all over the place. But is it really worth it? MLP fan music was never about fame and money. It was about free artistic expression, about passion, about the magic of friendship. Now the feeling of tight knit circle of friends is quickly evaporating, as more and more musicians let fame go into their heads.

NotACleverPony used to be one of the most prominent brony musicians until one day he decided to just ‘end it all’. His departure left a gaping hole in pony music community, since nobody else could write dark and brooding songs about Princess Luna. However, PONY RUNOFF has heard from a reliable source that he might be back to perform one last time. As a hologram.

BroNYCon, which starts on June 30, is shaping up to be the biggest MLP fan convention yet. Of course the pony music scene will be well-represented with pony musicians of all genres and stripes swarming towards Manehattan like some sort of cacophonic Smooze. But apparently the convention organizers decided the show needed something special to truly ‘go viral’. And by ‘something special’, I mean a lifelike 3D visage of NotACleverPony, who is going to perform a previously unreleased composition “The New Lunar Republic Prevails”.

I’m glad to live in the 21st century where such AMAZING technology is possible. One question still remains though. Nobody has actually seen NotACleverPony in person, so how would we know it’s not just a hologram of some random guy from the street?

In other news, this Saturday we have the grand #MLP season 2 finale. The levels of hype are ‘up to 11’. Since the very first episode of the series all of us were following with bated breath as the love between the two main characters blossomed, and now, finally, they are ready to ‘tie the knot’!

I don’t know about u, but I was a Shining Armor/Cadance shipper from the start. Their personalities just seemed to fit each other perfectly. I was soooo excited when he finally got the courage to tell her ‘I <3 u, bb’ in the episode 15 of season 2. It’s like every shipper’s dream come true! I wish I could see the look on the faces of all those ShiningMac heretics! Eat that! The shiny one is taken now! ArmCandy is CANON!
